Some weeks are crazier than others.  After a great week at Outlantacon, I had to get back to real life.  I helped clean up what could have been a PR disaster, worked fifty five hours in the day job, created two different ads, worked on two websites, and created a daily schedule for a client. Not to mention, I have been exploring different social media issues for a big project coming up.  I know I am a work-a-holic but this overload had me wanting to throw my laptop and drop my phone back in the toilet. For those of you that do not know, I had dropped my phone in the toilet at the airport in Atlanta trying to take live scat pictures for Patti. Well, not really taking pictures, but it is one of the funnier stories that I have come up with for why my phone ended up in the toilet. Needless to say, I have a new phone, but I digress.

So, yesterday after finishing a Power of Positive image, I closed my laptop, grabbed my Pumpkin, and went to the park.  Anyone that knows me has heard how therapeutic I find swinging on the swings.  It is difficult to be sad with the wind whipping through your hair as you try to kick a cloud.

Then we went to my parent’s house to spend a little time with them.  Having just gotten the issue of AttitudeUK with the ad I created for G.A. Hauser in it, I felt like an elementary school kid with his first art project.

Then it was off to lunch at the Hilton Café.  As we were pulling in, our good friend Andy called and wanted to have lunch. It was so delightful to spend some time with him and catch up on his busy schedule at the flower shop.  The Hilton Café has the best pulled pork sandwich that I have ever tasted and the chili was good too.

Then I got and Ice Cream from Treat Dreams.  I will tell you know, if you have the chance to have the Strawberry Basil and the Mango Unchained together, do it.  The taste is not to be believed and you will thank me later.

I finally made it home around four o’clock and after a quick check in to Facebook, I watched mindless tv wrapped up in Pumpkin’s arms till he went to bed at ten.  Not being tired, I channeled my inner geek and started watching Star Trek: The Motion Picture.  Not a bad movie, it had just enough of everything and old Spock is a stud!

Then I decided to watch Hunger Games.  Of course I fucking loved it, why wouldn’t I? Strong crazy woman goes all savior.  It was like hanging out with Patricia Logan without the sex scene.  Although in my mind, the two blondes were like bunnies as soon as the girls fell asleep while they were waiting for her to come out of the tree.

All in all, it was an enjoyable day. I got to hang out with Pumpkin, see friends and family, support my local community, and catch up on a little pop culture so that I have something to talk about at parties. What did you do on your last day off?
